ORGANIC ARGAN OIL
(Argania spinosa)
Native to Morocco, Argan oil is obtained from the fruit of the thorny Argan tree which has been used for centuries by the Berber tribe of Morocco.
The argan tree which grows to 8 metres high and can live to 200 years, bears fruits when it is 5 years old.
Flowering in April, the fruit contains up to 3 oil-rich seeds which takes over a year to mature - ripening in June/July of the following year. Up to 3 kilos of almonds are used to produce a litre of this gorgeous oil. The crushed almond is kneaded for 2 hours to separate the oil from the paste. The oil has a unique profile of fatty acids, tocopherols & squalane and contains more mg/kg of tocopherols than olive oil.
Argan oil is traditionally used to regenerate the skin.
This cold pressed oil which
we purchase directly from Morocco can also be used to condition cuticles and moisturise the hair. Organic argan oil is great at reducing frizz and repairing dry/damaged hair/split ends.
